SEO Audit: Udacity

In this project,  an on-site and off-site SEO Audit as well as three site performance tests were conducted to improve Udacity DMND's visibility in the search engine. The focal point of this project was the overview page for the Digital Marketing Nanodegree (DMND) Program on Udacity's website.

 

In addition to the audit, recommendation were made based off data and analyzation to help improve its discoverability on search engines.

The project consisted of four parts:
 

  1. On-Site SEO Audit: Evaluation of keywords and recommendations on content generation related to the keywords with the most potential. Additionally, a competitive analysis of metadata was performed to offer further insight.

    Tools Used: Google’s Keyword PlannerMoz’s Keyword Explorer Tool, Browseo SEO Tool, Portent SERP Preview Tool

  2. Off-Site SEO Audit: An off-site SEO audit was performed where backlinks to the site were evaluated on relevance, quality, and impact. Insights from audit were used to create recommendations for link-building campaign.

    Tools Used: Moz OpenSite Explorer, SEMRush, SE Ranking​​​​
     

  3. Performance Testing: Page Indexing, Site Speed and mobile friendliness were evaluated to identify areas of opportunity for the site.

    Tools Used: Northcutt Page Index Tool, Google PageSpeed Insights Tool, Think with Google 
     

  4. Final Recommendations: Data and insights from on-site/ off-site audits and performance testing were compiled into report with intent of improving SEO strategy for the site.
